I don't believe in God but I believe there are living angels and Mr Arvin is definitely one of them. The man gives back life. I was practically paralysed and he operates on me and now I am a moving body again. He has excellent bedside manners and is a very kind man. I would recommend him to anyone.

I had a prolapsed disc (L5) which was completely blocking the sciatic nerve. The pain was excruciating and by the time I met Mr Arvin I was at my lowest ebb. He was so reassuring and, once I’d decided to opt for the microdiscectomy, was completely confident it would be a straightforward procedure. There were several options and Mr Arvin discussed all of them with me. Although the microdiscectomy was the most invasive, I knew it was the best option particularly once the mri scan showed exactly how large the prolapsed disc was. Mr Arvin’s experience is evident by the way he talks; he trusts his team and has a self-assurance which was, in turn, reassuring for me. I had no fears when it came to the surgery itself. The before and after care was brilliant too. It has been 6 weeks since my surgery and everything is going well. I was able to walk unaided immediately after the operation and I stopped taking painkillers 3 weeks ago. I am walking 10,000 steps a day which is a miracle considering I could barely walk 5 steps before. Thank you, Mr Arvin. From the whole of my clan! Rachel O’Donnell

Being admitted to Queens Hospital after having a Subarachnoid haemorrhage was one of the worst experiences of my life however I count myself lucky it happened when Mr Arvin was the consultant on duty and in charge of my care. He came to visit me every day, answered every question we had in detail and with patience. He really understood how frightening an experience it was for me and my family and still is. He was incredibly thorough and as you would expect knowledgeable, but it was his good humour, modesty and respectful nature that allowed me to take comfort in his ability to make sure I was OK. I will be eternally grateful to him for the care he gave me.

Well where do I start it was great meeting someone like Mr Arvin, who was enthusiastic about his job and caring about the patient and his knowledge was mind blowing. Mr Arvin put us at ease as soon as we arrived and explained everything that was going on with the scan and what they would be during the operation and the aftercare was brilliant and I would recommend Mr Arvin to everyone I know who requires medical attention in his clinic.

Doctor listened to my concerns, carried out tests and explained in detail what the problem was by showing me MRI Scan results. He then reassured me that there was no immediate cause for concern and explained what I should do to relieve the pain. He then told me what procedure I should follow if the pain increased. This reassured me and eased my concerns. I am completely satisfied with my consultation.
